I have heard that the best school in the UNC program is Chapel Hill. I want to know where Charlotte stands compared to Chapel Hill. What type of scores do you need to get into the honors program? Also, do they have a well known business program?

There are very few public universities in the nation that can compare to UNC Chapel Hill; as much as I am a supporter of UNC Charlotte I cannot say that the two schools can even be mentioned in the same breath with the exception of a few departments/majors. I believe that the School of Architecture is considered by most to be the best (public) one in the state of NC. Motorsports engineering (if that is the correct name) is supposed to be very good, especially given the proximity to Charlotte Motor Speedway. I am told the music department is superior to the music department at UNC CH. Even though most of the banking headquarters have moved from the city of Charlotte, it is still a banking center and more opportunities exist for internships, etc. than at Chapel Hill. There is an undergraduate business program at Charlotte but,of course, the MBA program is not nearly as well known or highly ranked as the one at Chapel Hill.
I do not know the specific scores needed for the honors program at Charlotte but am certain it is far less competitive than at Chapel Hill. There is a very nice dorm in a convenient location on campus for those in the honors program at Charlotte.

In the state of North Carolina there are over a dozen public universities (not all are called UNC ____). Without a doubt, UNC Chapel Hill is the best; the next most highly regarded school in the state is NC State University in Raleigh, which, at the undergraduate level is primarily an engineering/science related school. After those two institutions, it is a matter of preferences and opinion what is the next best school factoring in particular major/department, location, size, student body mix and school culture or vibe. I would argue that UNC Charlotte should be near the top because it is located near a vibrant major city (easy transportation is a big plus), has many new buildings on campus, it is a growing school, with a good mix of students that tend to be more serious about their education (than say students at ECU), will soon have a D1 football team, and is reasonably priced.
