Research + Age Restrictions advice please

Hey guys i’m a sophomore who will turn 15 in a month or so, and i have been really looking into research opportunities but i cant find anything for those <16 and that means i cant do it until the middle of junior year/ the summer after junior year, but starting research then is really late, and i dont know if ill be able to do a good project. Advice + recommendations for anything for 15 year olds or younger.

What field(s) are you interested in?

I’ve been looking for molecular + cell bio, but I’m really open to anything bio or Chem related

Talk to your science teacher and see if they have ideas.

Lol, i did that before i even made this thread… i asked my bio honors teacher from last year, my ap bio teacher, and my chem teacher…all of them said they couldnt help me…

I’ve talked to professors at various universities (TX btw) and looked into quite a few research programs, but nothing seems to accept 15 year olds except for one program but its really hard to get into…

If a professor told me last year to contact him this spring regarding a research position, would now be a good time?

Age restrictions often have to do with the hazards of working in a lab. If a professor told you to contact him in spring for a research position, now would be fine. Make sure your email is professional and address him with the proper title (i.e. Dr. so-and-so or Professor so-and-so if they lack a Ph.D. or MD).
