Yesterday, my DS got an email notifying him that he received a RIG of $3,000.(http://www.enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/rig/)

Did anyone else get this?

My D did in 2008–though getting one was a more complicated process then. (It was offered on a competitive basis and required the submission of a formal research proposal. )

RIGs are offered to high achieving students who mention they are interested in doing research at UR or who have done research in high school.

Consider it a inducement to get your son to enroll.

My son got the same e-mail. From the link, it looks like students can also apply for a RIG grant. It is a nice enticement. My son loves U Roch so hoping he gets enough merit to make it feasible.

I received one as well. I’m happy to have received it, but a little irritated that it came before any scholarship information… :/

A nice enticement indeed. Our son loves URoch but, like GraniteStateMom says, we hope to get enough merit to make it feasible over other (cheaper) options.

Does anyone know when merit aid offers will be made?

I emailed the admissions office and was told that scholarship offers would be sent via email ten to fourteen days after receiving the admit pack.

I received the RIG of $3,000 too! It’s awesome to see how much URoc supports undergrad research

I got it too! Yay
