I’m interested in doing research my first year. I’m a Materials Science and Nanoengineering major from Revelle College. My Provost, Dr. Paul Yu, gave me a list of names and told me to use him as a reference. I’ve been doing research since the end of 6th grade at University of Nebraska Lincoln. Should I delve straight into research my first term at UCSD, or should I wait a bit? I have some experience in a biochemical lab, but primarily in physical chemistry and chemical engineering labs.
Don’t wait around. Dr. Yu’s name is a great reference and the sooner you get started with research the easier it’ll be to manage it as part of your schedule in the future.
^^ Yes. Get started at the beginning of the year when some projects will just be starting up and available positions are still there. Congratulations on your achievements. You have some great opportunities as a result.
Understood. Thank you!
