Research for Engineering Grad School????

so for engineering it is said that you should have research experience with a professor if you want to go to a top eng grad school. I guess be involved in “a project” Even get published if possible.

Does a summer internship at a respected research lab have value? It would involve modeling, design, 3D printing. In fact, a respected corporation offered an internship with similar duties.

Which would look better on a resume for getting into a top grad school?

Are you asking about the difference between a research lab at a university and a corporate internship? If the work is the same you will get the same experience but the research lab will result in a more relevant letter of recommendation for a graduate program. Without more information, it is difficult to give you a more detailed answer.
