Research participation and class scheduling

This fall I will be starting my first year at a new university, though this will be my second year overall. I am a psychology major and have been concerned about being able to get involved in research, though at my orientation I was told that it's very easy to participate in undergraduate research. However, now I am wondering about the time when this research takes place. My schedule is not especially full, but most of my classes are around the middle of the day. So, is there a particular time that most research goes on, or does it depend on the school/professor?

Depends on the prof, but generally schedules will be flexible.

Well, you have earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon, to start.

For my lab, we just have to commit a certain number of hours every week. We let the coordinator know when we’re available at the beginning of each week, but we have some flexibility as to when those hours happen.
