Hi! I’m a rising sophomore, hoping to pursue law in college and become a prosecutor. I live extremely close to the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) which is a super good college, and I want to do research there to build up my college application for Georgetown (where I’m hoping to do my undergrad). I was wondering how to go about getting to work with a professor? I thought about just cold-emailing a ton of professors in the law department, but I was also wondering if it was even possible in the first place for a sophomore to get a research position?
It is very unlikely that a professor would have work for you to do, especially legal research.
You might find a job at a local law firm doing filing or answering phones. Right now as a hs sophomore, you have no legal skills. Georgetown will not look for legal skills to admit you as a non-law student undergrad.
