I'm in the process of securing a research position in a biology lab at my current university for next semester. What kind of emphasis will adcoms put on this in my transfer application? In other words, will they put a significant amount of weight on research?

It depends a lot on what your responsibilities are in the research position. Are you helping with the design of the study, are you carrying out data collection, or are you washing test tubes? How much time are you spending on the project? How strong a LOR will the PI of the project write for you in a few months?

come on.... dont do research for transferring....

I'm not doing research for transferring. I genuinely want to do research. I'm a biology major and I want to make sure that this is a path that I really want to pursue. No, I'm doing this because it's something I think I will enjoy. I was just wondering if it was also something that I could include on my transfer app.

Seemed like a reasonable question to me. And I think it's good to show that you're not just pining away to go to some other school, but that you're taking advantage of all that your current school has to offer, including research opportunities.
