Is there an admission status website for RSI06? Somebody posted one for RSI05(planetrickoids).

Errr do you mean for RSI07 because I think there already is one for 06?

There's no site for '06 similar to planetrickoid (<a href="http://www.planetrickoid.comclub.org)%5B/url%5D">www.planetrickoid.comclub.org)</a>, but there is this one: <a href="http://web.mit.edu/rsi/www/%5B/url%5D">http://web.mit.edu/rsi/www/</a>.

Welllll, I've decided to be a counselor! My interview went well and my interviewer was super, but ...... going to RSI is in my best interests. So, YAY! See you all there! If you're lucky enough to be in my counselor group :P, I'll buy you lots of ice cream :D

i'll most definitely nobody now that you'll a counselor. fun stuff. :D

What math level are all of you guys who got accepted to RSI in? I'm just curious.

hehe, this'll see how curious you are...

Victoria Certificate of Education (Australian):
maths methods 2006, specialist maths to finish 2007.

does the american academic year stop/start in january like ours or does yours stop/start in june/july?

and btw, what does 'nobodying' involve...?

it stops in june. what part of australia do you hail from fernm? i'm kind of curious about the 'nobodying' as well. does that just mean that you're a bum?

I've taken Calc BC and Stats. No math class for me this year though.

ha- yeah. basically if you are a nobody you just hang around rsi because you can and have nothing else to do.
you're a nobody because you're not officially associated with cee, like the rest of the staff it.

It is important to note that Nobodies are in fact Rickoids, but they do not have a distinct job description for the RSI session. The greatest nobody of all is obviously Marc. You'll be meeting him on the first day and probably be chilling and chuckling with him at some point throughout the six weeks. I believe he was Rickoid of the Decade, too, was he not?

good point kyle. nobodies aren't just random people who pop up. that would be a bit odd. haha

wtrbear: Im from the state of Victoria, region called Gippsland. if you look on a map its the bit of the mainland directly north of Tasmania. I live in a tiny place called Gormandale. (good luck finding that on a map!!)

are the Nobodies invited or do they volunteer?

rsi is sort of like a family. you don't have to be invited, but are welcome. there's no point to explaining the traditions of rsi, such as the eugenics program, mofia, nobodying, ricklets, and etc. after you go, you'll get it. :D

Aww it's so nice how rickoids form an ever expanding 'family' =) I bet that for most of our interning days we don't see each other very much, since we'll be scattered all over the city, unless a couple people go to the same lab to work. so are most of the mentors first timers or do some give repeat performances year after year? i hope i get one who's really interested in mentoring, and doesn't just pass me off to a student..

When is the RSI breakfast????????

I'm at ISEF and I haven't heard anything. Aliona Dameron told me she was surprised I hadn't heard anything yet.

Anyone know anythig?????

Help!!!!!!

Last year it was on Thursday. Maybe email Matt, but I'm sure he's really busy, so just ask around and keep checking your email. Relax, it'll happen :)

In other news, 3 RSI counselors (including me) got into ISSI, so I don't think any of us are going to RSI. This really sucks!!!! I wish I hadn't gotten in...I mean, I did lots of stuff that should have kept me out (turned in application 4 days late, did not give my teachers the paper they were supposed to sign and fill out, hurried through the interview, etc.) sigh

What is ISSI?

So all three counselors are going somewhere else! That's gonna be a problem for cee to sort through. What is ISSI? I can't find anything when i google it.

okay, i'm not sure if all three of us are going, but two are for sure. it shouldn't be a problem for the cee to sort through because there are many students who applied for counselor (and they all would make really, really great counselors!) ISSI stands for international summer science institute: <a href="http://www.weizmann.ac.il/zemed/english/activities.php?page_name=activities&cat=0&act=large&id=83%5B/url%5D">http://www.weizmann.ac.il/zemed/english/activities.php?page_name=activities&cat=0&act=large&id=83</a>. It's held at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel, for one month. About 18-20 students are from the U.S. and the rest (~55) are from other countries. It's completely free (transportation to and from Israel, meals, housing, etc.) 10/18 U.S. students this year are RSI '06 :D
