In case ur wondering my a2 your question is up top.
And also, what state are you from, wkdsd

Do you get to visit home when youre at RSI? I live probs an hour drive from the area, so would that seem too out of the question, maybe every two Saturdays I can take a day off or something? Six weeks is so long! Even if I get into the program in the first place that is, lol...

trust me, you won't WANT to visit home..

@imustbecrazy: oops, sorry about that - but my intent was realised.

More importantly, I was wondering what counts as an official score report. Can I just make copes of my score reports, or do I have to order extras? I'm worried that getting a 2004 report might be hard.

Fun facts about RSI 2008:

15/50 qualified for the USAMO in 2007
9/50 in 2008
8 of those qualified in both

Other things:
RSI highly discourages parents meeting up with their kids while at RSI.
You can apply from Japan? From what I understood, Japan didn't send anyone because RSI conflicted with their school year. I could be wrong though.

Also for official score reports, the person at my school's transcript office put the school seal on a printout of my test scores from the website; you don't need to actually get an official copy.

Yeah, I can second WaitingForGodot. My school's registrar took care of all my transcript stuff, and I didn't send in official scores from CB.

I'm pretty much done with my app, i just need the teachers' recs. So I'm just curious about my chances, and have a few questions.
GPA- 95.7 PSAT - 231 (M-80 CR-74 W-77) SAT (M-770 CR-790 W-800) SATII bio- 780, Chem- 800
All science and math classes are honors, except for physics, which is not available. Currently taking AP Biology.
AP Euro - 5, to be taken, AP Biology, AP US, and AP French
Extracurriculars
Math and Science:
Science Olympiad - (biology)9th-Present also plan on participate in USABO this year
Math Team - jr high and up until 10th (AMC taken)
Columbia Science Honors Program
Bio informatics class at City University of New York
Internship at American Museum of Natural History
Volunteer at Mt. Sinai Hospital Department of Pharmacology
Other Extracurriculars:
School Newspaper/Yearbook photographer
ARISTA (NHS)
Model UN (only for a little while, should i mention?)
Tutoring for underclassman
Asian Performance Society
I know my GPA isn't super high, but would the fact my school is a math and science specialized high school with an entrance exam help at all? Should I mention that APs (especially bio) that I'm taking now? since we can't really take any AP other than euro/world before junior year. I don't have a huge amount of EC, so would it hurt my chances sigificantly? Also for those of us whose school would only send out a copy of transcripts, what counts as a verification of standardized scores? would printouts from collegeboard suffice? if not, what do you suggest? Thank you

Hmm...that's interesting, I'm sure that at least 4 of them qualified for MOP as well, do you know how many qualified for USAMO in 2006?

9 by my count.

YES! Finally got my PSAT scores.... interesting, lol.

PSAT: 74CR, 77M, 80W = 231
SAT: 800, 800, 720

That relieved a lot of stress
