<p>Mixing diet coke and mentos probably won't get you into CalTech, but if this is serious, systematic research, preferably done with an expert, sure.</p>
<p>I worked with my chem teacher on removing gold from computer parts for a while during the school year. Now that it's summer I'm working on a project, with the same teacher, that uses radio waves to supposedly ignite water.
Also, could I say that this is an EC on the common app?</p>

<p>that's weak sauce compared to a real internship at a legitimate research facility. anyone can stay after school and do some experiments.</p>
