<p>They are very specific on the UNC website about this. You can live there as a student OOS and not qualify as your parents must live elsewhere, correct? I assume you would be classified as independent status before you could even approach resident status.</p>
<p>I researched this topic, extensively, as we own a second home in NC, and pay property taxes. It’s a no go. You must work, live, breath, etc. in the state… like I said, it is very explicit. Each state is different in this regard.</p>
