I'm just wondering if being a restaurant manager for a couple of years is appealing to business schools? I'm not referring to the top B-schools like Wharton or Kellog, but those in a tier or two below that.

Best Business Graduate School Ranking in 2011 | U.S. College Rankings

Using that set of rankings, I'm referring to B-schools that are 25 (like Ohio State) and lower.

Anyone have a clue?

It all depends on what exactly you do. You will need to list your job responsibilities in a positive way and put it down to the admissions. Ofcourse, this is not the only factor that business school will look at. Most liekly, the school will ask for your GMAT scores,GPA and 1-2 references. So your application will be weighted based on all these factors.

To answer you question - it may be appealing but it will definitely not ruin any of your admission chances. Good Luck
