resume help

My D has an audition coach & she has given her the basic template for the resume, but I wondered if there is anywhere else we could go for help w/the resume or even if anyone on here privately offers their opinion? I know I'm worrying about every little thing, but I worry if her resume isn't done just right it will affect things for her!

Thanks!
Tami-AKA as a Mom that can't wait for the whole process to be done!!

the audition coach sounds like a good person to ask. Although I could throw in my two cents on offering up my opinion.

It may seem like a little thing but you are right to worry about it - while I don’t think it would hurt her chances but having a nicely done resume certainly could help! I held an audition this last week and was appalled at the number of crudely done-up resumes.

It absolutely will NOT hurt her if her resume is less than perfect! Just make sure it’s clear and not riddled with typos. If you do a search on this forum and the theater-drama one, you’ll find many threads and posts about resumes. Also check school websites–JMU and NYU-Tisch have good examples. But don’t let it worry you, just make sure it’s clear and (within reason) comprehensive. :)

Also there is a sample resume in the I Got In book and by googling you can find examples to show you that you are on the right track. Some schools used the resume and asked questions and one school critiqued her resume.

Like, broadway95 says, you can go online and look at sample acting resumes for ideas on format. But honestly, agreed with Times3, the content will matter on a school resume much more than the format. However, make sure it is free of typos and easy to read. Use a clean font and lay out the info so that admissions can take in the information in a glance.I agree you can check with the coach, but I wouldn’t stress over this too much.
