I'm a junior and I just got my April act results back. Composite score was 34. (36 e/35 m/34 r/31 s) I don't know my writing score yet
My sat on the other hand is good but not as good as act. I got a 2160 (670 cr/750 m/740 w) I took te sat 1 time soph yr(2110) and retook in fall.

My question is, should I retake either test? Would it be worth it? I sort of want to get.superscore 36.

I do not see a reason to retake ACT when you already have a very high score and already have even higher section scores on the two sections that many colleges believe are the more important, math and English. Particlularly do not do it for purpose of getting another test that will be used to superscore with first test. Unlike SAT, majority of colleges do not superscore ACT and none of your very high ranked colleges other than WashU do so, they instead use that ACT test with highest composite.

I also do not see a reason to retake SAT because you already have a very high ACT. I know there were were several people who were applying for admission this year who posted on these boards who let their egos overcome their common sense and retook the tests even after having high first test scores and the result was, to their utter amazement and chagrin, a much lower score. And, of course, those applicants had firmly believed that getting a lower score could not possibly happen to them.

There is no reason to retake the act and since the act doesnt superscore itself (the colleges do it or dont but act sends only whole scores) its not worth the risk.

the only reason to retake the sat would be if you wish to attend a college that prefers the sat AND requires a higher score than you have and even then i would want to be sure either that they superscore, or that i did prep to guarantee an increase, or both.
