A group of us are having a small party celebrating the retirement of a woman friend. Does anyone have any ideas for a gift? Nothing too elaborate. Just something different and thoughtful.
@TatinG there is another very recent thread on just this topic. Iād link it for you but Iām in my phone and canāt!
There were a bunch of good suggestions!
I read it. Those were group gift ideas from co-workers. This is an individual gift from a friend.
A sun hat for the beach? Thatās the only original idea I had.
I really liked a book that a friend gave me. It was non-fiction, situation specific. Oh, and there was a nice pretty bottle of booze too.
I would say the same kind of gift that might be given for a birthday or holiday, except perhaps trending toward whatever you know the friend plans on doing after retirement.
Consumables - wine, alcohol, chocolate, etc. are good.
I got my dh a clock where the numbers are all askew with the word āwhateverā written on it.
(I SO want to say windchimes to start another retirement gift ruckusā¦ )
I vote for consumables too. Unless there is something that is an obvious win for this person.
Iād still go for the āHappy Retirementā rose ! The gift that keeps on giving
