<p>I know there are many questions about returning to Rice and I'm by no means an authority, so I hope others will chime in. These are my observations so far (school begins on Monday).</p>
<p>Financial Aid - For us, it is better for the 2nd year, which directly reflects our personal financial situation.</p>
<p>Off campus Financial Aid - On campus housing and dining is considered in the award package, although the student may be off campus.</p>
<p>Books - For S, they were cheaper and he needs even fewer. I'm sure that does not apply across the board though :-).</p>
<p>Emotions - S said that leaving this time was more difficult than any other time before. For some reason he just wasn't ready to go back. (I think it is about what he did/didn't do over the summer. - It does not reflect his attitude toward Rice at all. - He loves Rice!)</p>
<p>Housing - If I'm correct, a returning student cannot move in to their college until Saturday before classes begin (unless they are involved with O week).</p>
<p>Rice - Remains as awesome as ever! :-)))) (and just keeps getting better)</p>
