Reunion for Active Members of M10 Freakout Thread 2015!!! [Updates on how we are all doing]

Hi Guys,

I was really more of a lurker than a poster on that thread, but I think it helped all of us all more than we can imagine during the application process and those painful weeks leading up to M10.

I created this thread so we can all catch up with each other and to relish in the memories :).

Without further ado, I give you the “2015 M20 Freakout” Thread Reunion!

Hey people!

Cool idea! Now what is your vision for posts? *-

Maybe like what bs you are attending or if you are applying and just a general space to reflect on the stress of applying and be relieved now that its all over

Aww. . . stress of applying sadly is not over for us! One right behind DS going through app cycle back-to-back!

b-(

@itcannotbetrue Will you be revisiting the same schools with the next child or has your list changed with experience?

@Xystus Lol, list has changed a bit with experience and also due to needs of our second child. However, we really just want her to attend the same school as our son!!! She WANTS her own search, so here we are. . .our parameters are that the schools on her list must be less than three hours away from DS’ school–although I can’t even fathom dealing with cross-country travel AND different school calendars!

So, no general place to reflect on stress of applying being over here. DS is at Choate. He is doing fine, and is especially relishing in the idea that over Thanksgiving break he gets to read her essays!

Ok, revisiting the reunion thread (from a parent’s perspective):

  1. School was much, much harder than DS thought it would be
  2. Changing sheets on a regular basis is improbably even harder than school 3, Not all advisors communicate with parents or help freshmen boys avert near disasters
  3. Managing a BS schedule has resorted to a series of alarm alerts, a scheduling app, and alerts through the elearning platform (for the few teachers who use it).
  4. 20-something jock advisors will not remind DS that laundry pick-up will happen the next day.

Lol, but overall he likes it, even though I have developed a penchant for red wine and dark chocolate and picked up at least five lbs in the process.

@itcannotbetrue at least his heart is healthy;-)
