Hi guys, I am a current junior who is looking into majoring in biology/bioengineering. I am also interested in maybe double-majoring in political science or participating in an interdisciplinary field like healthcare management. I’m trying to gauge what I should be shooting for. Any advice is welcome!
Stats:
Asian-American female, middle class
gpa: 3.85/4, 4.85/5 (I come from a well-known, very academically rigorous public school so the average gpa for our ivy admits are around 4.85)
Act: 33 (35 E, 29 M, 35 R, 34 S) -I will probably at least bring this up to a 34
(Still working on those subject tests)
APs I am currently/planning to take (School restricts aps to juniors and beyond)
AP stats, AP Chem, AP Bio, AP US history, AP Physics, AP Calc, AP US and Comp Gov, AP art
ECs:
Science Olympiad team (Officer, captain) > a very competitive team, always top 3
Division b Olympiad (founder and coach)
Envirothon (captain)
Speech team (the team itself is pretty competitive, I hopefully will receive a leadership position next year)
High School Democrats of America Chapter (Founder, chair)
Student rep to the local Democrats executive board
Founder of the annual school civics day (this is the 1st year tho lol)
Technovation team leader (app coding competition)
Art (Set up private shows etc)
Internships:
Financial Intern for state senate campaign (around 1.5 years)
BU medical center intern (4-weeks), worked on the mechanism behind a certain drug resistance, will be credited of a paper currently prepped for publishing)
Brigham Pathology trainee (6 months) Discovered a cool gene fusion, maybe will be kinda important, we need to run tests. Research/publican in process.

Over the summer, I will probably continue working on genetics research

Awards:
3 state medals for scioly
1 “national” bronze medal for scioly (more like regional bc its smaller scale)
On the TEAMs competition champion team
National qualifier for Congressional debate
Princeton Semifinalist for Congressional debate
Honorable mention for Scholastic art awards
And as a preference, I like smaller/mid-sized schools with a true campus.
Are there any schools/programs that come to mind?
