Reverse Chance Me (pre-med)

Not sure if now (don’t see it posted) but two years (2021 entry)ago was 33 for merit. They had it posted but took down for TO. They do have the Cathedral of Learning which goes lower and more aggressive $ wise. I believe those are for first gen and URM. Agrees other than their admissions portal, you only hear positives.

My daughter received $8000 from Pitt with a 33, 3.9 gpa. It was one of her lowest public east coast awards, and she applied early.

Rowan should be on your radar. It’s not urban but it has a medical school and BS/MD program.

Thanks! What about UNC? They are great for pre-med but would that be a reach for me?

It’s a reach for anyone OOS.
Manny resources such as the attached. . U can do pre med anywhere …literally.

I can’t answer from personal experience about UNC as I work in PA and as far as I know, we’ve yet to have a student from my school apply there, at least, not one who talked with me a bit about colleges.

I know from this forum that they are tough to get into from OOS, esp since they tend to be a better public with financial aid. Most places that are good with financial aid get more applicants which means they are tougher to get into IME.

UNC caps out-of-state enrollment at no more than 18 percent of total enrollment (policy 700.1.3) for each incoming class. They made the news a few years ago when they were over the OOS limit and had to pay a seven figure fine to the state of NC. This makes it very tough for OOS students as stated above.
