<p>Forgive me if I shamelessly promote my daughter's school, Kansas State University, which has its eighth Rhodes recipient since 1986, second only to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill among public universities.</p>
<p>What struck me about this list was that out of 32 recipients this year, 9 Ivy League graduates (Brown, Columbia, Princeton (3), Penn, Harvard (2), Yale) -- that is an amazing 30% representation vs. all US university graduates to end up with a Rhodes Scholarship in 2008.</p>
