Rice/ Religion Oriented?

I was wondering.. My friend is going to college in baylor and he has to take a religion course with all his music one's.. Rice, same structure?

Baylor is a religiously affiliated school, but Rice isn't. :) I assume there is no religion requirement at Rice.

thanx krazy kow!.. rice.. umm.. U never know?? ;)

hehe... I would also venture to say that Rice is a much better school than Baylor, partially based on the fact that Baylor sent me a 2 page application that required no essay and told me I would have a response within two weeks of them receiving my transcripte.

rice> baylor... like that! ;)

Yep!... and apparently I can't spell the word transcript. whatever, it's late at night

lol ;)... it's late

no, no religion requirement at Rice.

no, rice >>> baylor

See, I just don't like offending people, and I know quite a few who are going to Baylor (living in Texas makes it like that). Yes, Rice >>> Baylor.

I am quite outspoken in my dislike of Baylor. There is actually some censoring of the professors and monitoring of course content. It has a strong Baptist leaning. Not all the kids are that way, of course, but it is a sorry excuse for a major university. Rice is at the opposite end of the spectrum. Strong academics with a lot of respect for individual differences. There is plenty of opportunity to be involved in religious groups (of your choosing) but no pressure and no restrictions on the faculty.

somehow... that doesn't surprise me at all

"censoring of the professors and monitoring of course content."

Wow. An institute of higher learning. How about a daycare? That makes me sick at my stomach.

I believe you are also required to attend chapel courses.

Thanx all for the advice!... Rice University?.. Umm... ;)... Might look into that one!

Rice is in no way religious at all. I've had classes where the professor openly argues with students that they religion is just an illusion and that we'd be better off without it, etc.
