Rice vs. Cornell and Georgetown

Hey fam! So I was admitted to Georgetown, Cornell and Rice with a 25k a year scholarship. I am having a really really hard time deciding where to go. I want to go to Georgetown, but my parents want me to go to Cornell or Rice. I visited Rice a couple of weeks ago and also really liked it. I want to study economics and linguistics and ultimately work overseas for a NGO. Any ideas? Suggestions? Tips? Why do you love Rice?

@thestresser - I have two daughters at Rice. All of the schools above are fine academic schools but what else can they offer you? For my eldest daughter, in her three years, Rice has financially and logistically supported community service trips to Washington DC, Nicaragua, Minnesota, I am sure I am missing other destinations, all 100% unrelated to her major. Rice has a residential college system, which my daughters love, a built-in family like atmosphere, fostering camaraderie and an inter-college competitiveness. Beer bike and Baker 13 are unique to Rice. Orientation week, O-Week, is planned and run by students that takes almost a year of development. Medical school acceptance rate of 88%. Except for test weeks there is always a public party to go to put on by a residential college or the Architecture School (my daughters tell me Architectronica is the most anticipated party of the year). That’s about all I remember from my discussions with my Ds. Good luck!
