I have to agree with a previous poster who alluded to the effects of this mess on Cate. This must all be excruciating for her, and I hope she has some support. But little Quinn (so named because she is Edwards’ fifth child) will probably be the most damaged. I can’t imagine a worse way to come start life, and she doesn’t have even one sane parent.

Cate was at Harvard Law when all this went down, which is really the belly of the beast as far as political immersion is concerned. I bet that she does have friends who love her and are supporting her through all this. Every source I know suggests that she has a good head on her shoulders and was well-liked at Princeton and HLS. (A lot like Chelsea Clinton that way.)

Adversity has always made people very strong individuals and forces them to emerge in their own skin.
There is always good that comes from bad. that is why I think Quinn will fare OK, despite her parents.

Elizabeth Edwards needs a sitdown with Jenny Sanford to learn how to get her dignity back.

I’m not saying that EE is a saint, but I’m sure Elisabeth has been on and off chemo for her cancer, and chemo can affect one’s brain and alter their behavior…
