<p>How many right hand rules are there really?</p>
<p>i am studying for the SAT 2 physics test next weekend but i keep coming across problems referring to it, yet they are all very different situation, such as magnetism and torque.
is there more than one right hand rule?</p>
<p>Right hand rule only describes the orientation of the unit vectors i, j, k.</p>
<p>Basically, if you hold out your right hand such that your index finger and middle finger correspond to the vectors a and b respectively, then a x b will point in the direction of your thumb, which is orthogonal to both a and b. Note that b x a will point in the opposite direction as a x b. Wikipedia probably has a better explanation:</p>
