Rigor of Course load?

I go to a private school where my schedule is somewhat restricted by my school. They limit the number of AP’s you can take (2 sophomore, 3 junior, 4 senior) Is this taken into account by admissions?

Also, math and sciences are not my strong suite, so I am not in the highest courses possible (Pre-calculus and physics). Granted, I am not in the lowest math and science courses offered, but if I took Honors Pre-Calc and AP Physics, I would probably get C’s, so I opted to take the normal courses so I could manage A’s. I am, however, taking AP’s and Honors courses for every other class, save religion.

To somewhat make up for these shortcomings, I am taking courses at the local community college this summer, as well as taking an AP course online from my school.

Did anyone here have the same worries when applying to Bowdoin who was admitted?

Is this taken into account by admissions?

Yes. On the School Report, done by your counselor, it asks if there is a limit to the amount of advanced courses a student make take. By you taking extra courses at the community college and online, you are displaying a key determination to education and a passion for learning.

Job well done! I haven’t been accepted to Bowdoin, but I applied and I was in the same situation as you (limited courses available due to lack of course selection).
