LOL, you seem golden, bud. Just stay on top of your homework and you’ll be all set.

Wah I wish I had your stats. I’m also a captain of mock trial and I guess you already know that doors will be opened for you if you win a lot there??

thanks guys! that is actually super encouraging to hear.
@preamble1776: first off, great username haha. And I will try! Procrastinating tends to be my greatest pitfall, so i will definitely keep that in mind.

@ariistocrat: kind of. our mock trial team is pretty scrubby. We have gotten to finals of our district tourney for two years, but we haven’t progressed to state (at least while i have been around). besides winning at the state level, what else is there? I’m not super aware of all the opportunities stemming from mock trial.excuse my ignorance haha

Well, there are international and invitational tournaments for state winning teams that are quite prestigious for your resume. Besides that, I know a boy who was on a team who took second in our state last year, and he is now on Princeton’s mock trial team.

Oh okay, I see what you mean!
I think I am going to try to get our team to place in the top ten at state next year. I feel like that’s a reasonable goal. but those invitationals sound awesome!

Anyone else have any advice/comments/whatnot because lord knows I could use it haha

Please, if anyone has anything else constructive to say, please do so!

someone please

Keep up the good work! Just keep studying and try to get through Junior year without dying. Good luck! Work on making sure you have teachers to write LORs and that you have an idea for a college essay because everything else seems pretty in place for you!

@JDancer. Thank you!
How many teachers need to LORs? Two or three?
also, when colleges ask for an additional rec are they expecting a leader of an activity/adult you work with, or another teacher?

Hey dude! Nice stats you got there bro! You’re all set for a nice, worry free admission season senior year if you do well on the SAT, keep those grades up, and get some good letters of recommendation. My junior year survival tip would be to get to know EVERYBODY in the school if you haven’t already. My goal was to make a lasting impression so deep that people would not only remember me, but miss me. I’ve obviously accomplished that because I have tons of friends in the Classes of 2014-2016 that want me to come back and visit. I also knew the names and faces of all 309 seniors in my graduating Class of 2013! Not only will getting to know everyone make you popular, but you will feel a major sense of accomplishment and belonging! Good luck dude!

Congressional debate? What school? #Novarepresentin’

@FutureDoctor31: Thanks man! Yeah, cheesy as it sounds, at the end of the day it is the friendships that matters. I hope to get to know as many as possible over the next two years!
@relativelysmart: Nova! That’s awesome! I’ll PM you my school, but we aren’t big on the circuit. My main event is PF.

Usually you get 2 teacher recs and then one from your GC. Sometimes kids ask for an additional one if there’s a teacher that’s an alumni or if you have a flaky/older teacher.

@JDancer: good to know! thanks for the clarification!

Wow. This kid is a TRYHARD! Did you actually enjoy any of the past 2 years? I mean besides the part where you posted your loaded resume on CC to get receive compliments of jealous readers. Your stats are insane bud, ill give you that.

@chiclanda hahaha you don’t know how many times I’ve thought that about others haha. like when it’s all written out like that (i was really trying just to use the CC format) I can see how it comes across that way.
Tbh, I was kind of stressed first quarter sophomore year, but then I just decided to only do what I like and for the most part I’ve enjoyed high school.
i mean, thanks about the stats stuff! I guess, I have seen so many kids get super critiqued on these kind of threads, I wanted to see where I could improve. I have gotten a couple of PMs and other responses that have been really helpful, so I guess that succeeded. I definitely didn’t mean to come across as i was just posting my stats for the sake of it!
