Rising Senior SAT Prep??!!

Hey everyone!!

I’m really conflicted because I’m a rising senior and my mom wants me to take a SAT prep course over the summer but I wanted to pursue an internship. I am applying to business schools and I know internships are extremely important in your application but my mom’s saying that SAT scores are just as important because that is also considered what applying for merit aid (we need a good financial aid package).

Here are my scores so far, would it make more sense for me to do SAT prep over the summer or an internship? Which would benefit my application more? Kinda like a chance me!!

Schools I’m interested in (most to least wanted)
UPenn Wharton (def not getting in)
Northeastern D’amore Mckim (please chance me on this)
BU Questrom
USC Business
UC Berkley Haas

UMass Amherst Isenberg (safety)

Top choice is probably Northeastern, should I pursue SAT prep or an internship??

THANK YOU FOR REACHING THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST

Estimated GPA this semster: ~3.7 unweighted, no APs offered

Hmm. No one can tell you which of these paths will be better for your admissions chances. But for what it’s worth (and speaking as someone who runs an SAT class) I would recommend the internship. Your scores are already quite nice and you can always work independently to try to bump them up if you want. An internship is a more interesting and valuable thing to do with your time, regardless of how the admissions game turns out.
