Risking topic or not?

Hey guys, I brainstorm couple of ideas for my college essay but I don't know if I should use a broad way such as like when I was child stuff like that doing something weird to all the way of life to now, or something specific like how does videogames affect my life and my pursuit to my career. Mind you that I don't plan to join the entertainment industry(even though is sounds so cool to make a game) but rather study to be an aerospace engineer.

Or another option is how planes affected me? I believe that might be too common for future aerospace people.

Any more info out of me that you need and I will be happy to give it out.

I'm a tad confused as to what you were trying to get at when you mentioned your childhood. Did you mean writing about a childhood experience? If so those are usually pretty good essay topics. Basically anything about a specific event is generally the easiest thing to start with, so an event in your childhood, an event with you and planes, an event with you and videogames are all viable options. You have to walk carefully when you try and relay your whole life history of video games and how that has been meaningful to you because you can fall into the trap of merely telling the story without giving any details admissions officers actually want to know about you.
