DS was given a full tuition merit scholarship at Miami University of Ohio and yet to hear from RIT about scholarship offers.

My question is ... Top rated gaming program in a techy male dominated school for $$$ or small growing eager 15-30 rank multi disciplinary gaming program in a balanced environment seemingly not techy world. Both are far away for us.

My son has many interests with games and science at the top with all of his close friends girls or gentle giant guys. He likes a small intellectual and easy going crowd.

ACT scores

Have you visited both? We have visited both and culturally they could not be further apart. It would be hard to imagine a student fitting in both. Miami was very fratty/sporty. For my extravert D who herself is an athlete, it was overwhelming. I just visited RIT with my S and found it a quieter campus more geared toward the technical kids.

My D is a pretty outgoing kid who is pretty popular with a lot of inner nerd. She was pretty intimidated by the crowd and felt it would be quite a challenge to find her people. I think this is a college that should be visited before commitment.

Great … Thank you. we are hoping to meet a few of the geek types at their SF Innovation Campus this semester. The Director of the gaming program seems like a very interesting guy with an interest in the new direction in education etc. … speaks to other schools on the topic. There is an entrepreneurial/upbeat feel from afar so a visit is the best way to know for sure.
