Rochester or Baylor?

Hello,
I was recently accepted to Rochester through the Early Connection Opportunity (ECO) and I could not be happier. My family, on the other hand, is not. They(mainly mom) is set on me going to Baylor and Baylor was more of a safety school if all the other schools rejected me. The only thing at Baylor that I absolutely love is the BIC program, a honor program that allows students to take interdisciplinary core classes instead of the typical English, math, history and science core classes. One thing I am certain about is that Rochester's financial aid package will be more than Baylor(gives sucky financial packages for non-NMF students).

If I go to Rochester would I be looked on as a student to them, or just another number? What is the Rochester experience and how challenging are the courses for a bioethics major?
Also, if anyone has done the ECO, how does the $700 work for financial aid students under summer employment? I am not sure how to pay for it :/

Shosty5, you might be excited to hear that Rochester lacks general education requirements entirely (except 1 freshman writing course). Please give our Admissions Office a call if you want to learn more!

The U of R is not a place where you get lost in the numbers, there are approximately 4,800 undergrads on campus.

To get an anwer for your fin aid question, you can always call our fin aid office.

This is a tough one because I know squat about Baylor. It isn’t a school that comes up a lot.

I can say only that you will most definitely not be a number at UR. That’s not the way the school works for any kid.

Shosty5, I would definitely recommend connecting with your financial aid counselor as they can help answer your question. if you contact our front desk at 800.881.8234 and let them know that you have questions regarding your aid and ECO, they can connect you with your counselor.

We also have email addresses on our website for financial aid, so you can always email as well.

Thank you all for your input! I have contacted the admissions office and talked with them about the ECO. Regarding financial aid, they have not received my IDOC yet (already mailed last week), so hopefully I will have a definite answer on what my financial aid package is in the next two weeks.
