I'm from MA, and interested in majoring in the biochemical/premed field (possibly engineering). And I'm considering both Rochester and Wake Forrest for ED. Which one should I shoot for?

Stats (if you need them)
GPA: 4.02
SAT: 2310 superscored
Reading-720
Math-790
Writing-800
Stats AP-5

Have a bunch of other EC's, but don't feel like posting them at this time.
Thanks!

Shoot for? Apply. Get in and think about it.

My suggestion is to get on both schools websites and start looking up what different professors are doing/researching, etc, and see which appeals more to you. You’re likely to get in ED to whichever school you choose, so if you are ok with both in terms of fit otherwise, choose based upon what profs are doing. Both are excellent schools for what you are looking for.

With your stats don’t make the mistake of applying ED. You may be up for decent merit awards at both Wake and Roc.

Do some research - I don’t remember engineering (unless 3+2) at Wake. Also a very expensive school. D got in with basically same stats - no merit aid.

I know my SAT’s are great, but I feel like my GPA is kinda low

ArmoredTitan, apply broadly and don’t worry about your GPA. Apply to the places that you think are most interesting and would fit. If you are interested in biomed engineering, would consider WUSL, CWRU, Johns Hopkins and Northwestern as well.

BU has a large biomed program. You can check out how much money each school gets from external sources for each engineering area at ASEE.org.
