As Xiggi recommended, the better books-better than the giants of the SAT industry, namely Kaplan, PR and Barron's, are in many respects more apt in order to prepare for the SATs. Has anyone had a look at anything, and if yes what are your impressions? I wnt something that focuses more on the CR and Writing sections...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i haven't looked at maximum sat yet... but i do have a copy of the rocketreview. the rocketreview is very helpful with the writing section...the 100 point increase guarantee is true. i gained 100 points in the writing section thanks to this book. i didnt study for the critical reading section last time so i can't comment about that.

Thank you for this. Do you think though it can make the difference between a 750 and an 800? My score is 750 but I know I have a lot more to add to that as 750 is accomplished with only Barron's and 4 practice test. I do think that I have a lot more to learn, so do u think it could help high scorers as well? Or do u think that like most of other books, it is aimed at people in the range of 550-650??

Bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow. your score is pretty high already... i dont think the rocket review can help improve your score anymore as i went from a 640 score to a 740 score with that book and your score is already a 750 so you probably just need more practice.

I relied upon Xiggi's advice and followed his recommendations..

Xiggi, yes
but Whocares (lame i know, but it's pretty late here..)
