Conclusion: Rankings are subjective. lol

My high school is fairly large (about 2600 students), so it's diificult to say whether we are competitive or not. The top people in the class are extremeley competitive, while there are some students who skip almost every day. My class rank is 25ish/618 (last time I checked I was 27, but I know my rank has gone up, I'm just not sure by how much), so I'm still in the top 5%, but I'm still scared about my rank affecting an admissions decision. My entire high school career (including HS courses taken in 7th and 8th), I've received 8 Bs, the rest As; however, I have only received 3 of those Bs after freshman year, and I've been told that some colleges disregard freshman year and before, and if freshman year and before is ignored, then my rank would be easily in the top 10 of my class, so how will colleges look at this? Will they notice that my rank would be noticeably affected if freshman year and before is not taken into account?

AdOfficer: thank you for your advice.
What about schools that weight students with honors/IB/AP up... when actually all students are enrolled in "honors," as there is no program labelled "regular" in the district?
