Rolling Admission: When will I hear back?

Can you transfer into the nursing program if you are a health and science major at Quinnipiac? If so, what is the criteria and how many do they accept internally as transfers?

Monofnj congratulations to your daughter! That must be super exciting! What program did your daughter apply to and did she do rolling or ED?

Thanks Nicknack79! She applied to OT rolling admission, good luck to you!

Congrats momofnj! My dd is anxiously waiting to hear from Qu too. She fell in love with the school, campus, program. Hoping we hear before we leave for vacation, dec 15th!

Hi! I applied to Quinnipiac October 31st, on their website through the first look application. Did anyone hear back from them yet? I got an email from them two days ago saying my application is “in review”. Oh goodness I am so nervous!

Best luck to you all! (:

What are the stats for admission to OT rolling admissions?

So, two of my friends had been notified by Quinnipiac that they were accepted yesterday. One applied early October, and she’s going for criminal justice. The other applied for the School of Health and Sciences, but not sure when she applied.

Hopefully this means we’ll be hearing good news soon!

Do they notify by the status checker or by mail?

No, they were notified by a letter through the mail. If they’re going in order through months, and my friend applied mid October, could this mean those who applied in late October are coming up?!

Hopefully we’re next!

What were the stats for admission to health and science major? What types of concentrations do they offer in health and science? Can you transfer into the nursing program if you are a health sci major freshman year?

I’m not sure exactly what her stats were, maybe I can ask tomorrow.

As for the transferring, I believe you can. I remember a representative came to speak about Quinnipiac and someone asked her if they can transfer in and out of the nursing program. She said yes, but it’s a little difficult. But doable!

Just got accepted on Wednesday night!! Yay class of 2017!

What major did you apply for? I am accepted to Quinnipiac!! Yeah!! See you on campus

Kkurklen and Springisintheair CONGRATS! I’m so happy for you guys! (:

When did you two apply exactly? Late October? Early November?

This was the message for Nursing Program Nov 15 deadline application:

We have received your application and have begun to process your file for the additional information we need in order to move it to the admissions committee for review.

Due to the volume of applications we receive (over 15,000); this status may not change for 6-8 weeks.

Please be assured that we will contact you via email (to the address listed on this page) if additional information is needed to process your application.

15K applications? I am glad I’ve already heard good news from other schools.

Springisintheair:
Congrats on your acceptance. I hope it was in your desired Nursing major. Quinniapac has a very well respected Nursing Program.

Marybee333:
The 15K applications includes all majors at the school, not just Nursing. Even schools that get very large number of applications overall rarely have more than 1500 to 2000 applications for the Nursing major. For example, the University of Delaware gets over 25K applications but less than 2K of these are for Nursing. I hope this clarifies things.

Are you applying to Quinnipiac as well, Mwallenmd?

How many nursing students does UD accept out of the 2,000 possible applicants?!..and how many do they project to enroll for 2013?

Hodanismail:
No I am not an applicant. My D obtained her BSN at Univ. of Delaware in 2010. I have some familiarity with Nursing Programs overall as a result of her experiences (coupled with my own interests as a Healthcare professional).

Springisintheair: Last year Delaware had around 1600 applications for Nursing (most of them from OOS - 2/3rds of the students attending UD are from OOS). They accepted around 300 applicants and ended up with a Nursing freshman class of around 135 (have been around this number for at least the last 5 years). I suspect they will continue with a similar class size in the future.

I actually just emailed the admissions counselor and they told me I should be hearing my decision some time in early January.

For those still waiting, maybe you should email the admissions counselor as well to hear your decision!
