Room Assignment?

Hey Broncos!

I’m a recently/incoming transfer student for Fall 2017 and noticed since Monday on the 17th that people who applied for housing on campus were/are suppose to get a link for Welcome Week along with their room assignment. I applied mines pretty early around the time it opened for everyone. I still haven’t gotten any emails yet about my room assignment for Center of Regenerative Studies and I know were suppose to get it mid-July and I’ve seen that incoming freshmans got theirs already. Anyone gotten their room assignment already and what to do?

If you have not received your room assignment, you are likely on the waiting list. Room assignments for current students and transfer students were given out in March. There is space for only about 20 students in the CRS. I recommend that you call the housing office.

Oh I thought it was in mid-July. I’m a incoming transfer student.

It is usually just Freshmen that get their housing assignments in July. If you applied soon enough, you would have been given an appointment time to select your room. Otherwise, you are placed on the waitlist. If you contact the housing office, they will tell you if you have a room, or your position on the waitlist.

Oh okay. Would you happen to know how the chances are of people canceling or is it rare?

There are always some cancellations. It’s just a matter of where you are on the waitlist. Do you know what your WL # is?

They just said I’m in the top 10 waitlist. So is it just a matter of when I’m moving in?

It is just a matter of if there are enough cancellations. Are you also on the waitlist for the suites, or only CRS? If you are on the waitlist for the suites, being in the top 10 is very good. However, there are very few spaces available in CRS so being in the top 10 is no guarantee of getting a spot.

@EGR101 Oh, its only for CRS.

@EGR101 Is its no chances for the spaces in CRS?

There are only spots for 18 people total for CRS. Since they only give you a range of where you are on the waiting list and not your exact position, it can be difficult to estimate your chances. You said you were in the top 10. You could be #1 on the waiting list, which gives you a good chance, or you could be as high as #10, which would mean more than half of the people who have rooms would have to cancel which would not give you much chance.
