Ok, you nerds need to stop speaking in your pseudo code.

Just do like everyone else here and misspell the dirty words...

Edit: on topic - Get a job/roommate/help from mommy and daddy. Problem solved. Personally, I'll be doing like I always have, paying my own way...

Back to topic: hopefully going to Berkeley; living on campus because I don't know anybody in Berkeley and UCB guarantees housing to transfers if they apply before July 1 (gotta apply after you get accepted though I think); also praying fin aid pays my way (and I've got high expectations because my EFC was pretty low)

At UCLA, I would hope for a suite (where I have my own room) or campus apts... but like someone mentioned earlier, I bet I'll be put on a freshman res hall and end up throwing myself out the window mid-quarter.

UCB is a way easier situation... I don't mind living in an apt off-campus. I might even live in the city (the one over the bridge :D)

now, UCSD is the biggest pain in my ass because I don't want to live off campus my first year (because it's La Jolla + finding people to room with can be a challenge) but then again the housing situation at my college (ERC) SUCKS.

here's a map of the UCLA housing (floor plan). if you click on reiber vista, you'll see what i'm talking about. i like that building the most because mainly upper divison students get placed there and you can also get a private bathroom (share your room with only one other person, maybe possible?).

i hear sproul hall makes doughnuts every morning! their dining hall, that is. then again, i don't want to live with a bunch of freshmen, sharing a bathroom with time wasting nancys.

UCB: I've applied for the co-ops, but might end up living in a studio or a shared 2br or 3br apartment. I don't really want to pay $16000 to live on campus - that is freaking outrageous, even with the "amenities". I live in SF, but my studio is too expensive to stay here during school and I'd rather not have to pay for BART two ways every day.

If I end up at SDSU: I have a friend who went to SDSU who recommended against living on campus, but I might live on campus for the first year anyway. Is it really that difficult to find shared apartments in San Diego?

thatgirltoo -- try facebook and craigslist. if you're a girl, it's not that hard because guys don't mind living with girls as much as girls mind living with one guy. all girl houses and apartments aren't hard to find.

samK2987 -- lol, my parents are paying for everything too. but they will NOT let me live on my own. they are making me, which i don't really mind so i suppose it's "suggesting," that i live on campus (to make friends) and in a dorm with at least one other person, two if i have to.

Really? you'd rather share a room than have one for yourself? Well I guess it's different for me since I already have friends that go to UCD, UCSD, UCLA and UCB that got in straight from high school. My UCD and UCSD friends are all in Pi Alpha Phi, so they have a lot of friends too so I'm not too worried about networking.

well, i have friends at UCLA as well, but i'd like to stray from what i know. might as well.

i would like to have a room to myself but since i went to a CCC, i've been keeping to myself and i am worried that if i live alone, i'll do just that at UCLA as well. also it gives me a higher chance of being able to go to the dining hall with someone else. i have a fear of eating alone in public, lol.

xleper17: Thanks, I've already looked on Craigslist for housing in Berkeley and SD, just to get an idea. Craigslist is actually how I've found every living situation in SF since moving here, it is a terrific resource.
