But there really isn’t a point to add a business minor because then EVERYONE would get one, and Michigan is aware of this. You’re already allowed to take up to 20 credits through Ross as an LSA student, which is more than enough seeing as I only need 9 credits to have a concentration/emphasis as an actual business school student.

I don’t like the max. 45 credit transfer thing personally, but I understand. Many of the students who get accepted into Ross have way more than 45 credits (I had 60+) so I would venture to say that at least half of the class could graduate at least a semester or two early. This is disadvantageous for a few reasons. 1. You would go through 1 less recruiting cycle, making Ross graduates less appealing to prospective companies. 2. The business school would lose a lot of tuition from students. 3. Requiring that you graduate in 3 years means that you’ll be FORCED into rounding out your b-school education with other high level elective courses. 4. It encourages students to double major (I think) since they have so many extra credits lying around going to waste in LSA.

I don’t like it for the sole reason that it ****s me over when it comes time to register for classes, since it is based on credits after all, and I got capped at 45. I don’t know, I just really REALLY hope they don’t implement a business minor while I’m here.

Also, about the PA who got a 2.9… He SHOULDN’T get in. Maintaing a 3.3 is ridiculously easy, so if you can’t do that, then you shouldn’t be allowed in. Ross is definitely a lot more difficult than LSA courses, so it’s only going to get harder for that PA.

eh, i wouldn’t be too hard on him. yeah, it might be easy to maintain a 3.3, but his situation was a little darker than you may imagine.

my main motivation for applying, among wanting to pursue business as a profession, was to get a chance to start over. correct me if i’m wrong, but once you enter the b-school, your previous grades are wiped. My first year was riddled with difficulties, most arising from the fact that I worked 3-4 jobs to pay my tuition myself. However, things changed this year and I ended up with a high average.

i just want this chance to start over, because i know what my grades before are not representative of my potential.

@thealbatross I understand what your saying i’m just curious you were accepted as a junior or senior ? also i think the minor is pretty much going to be available next year according to my advisor, they also advised me to start taking some core classes in the bus school since the earliest the minor could be in place would be 2013 so i could get head start i would really love do economics/ Business minor then pursue grad school then staying extra year and half to get a BBA

I doubt it’s today.
I wonder where we fit in with that June 15th deadline… Perhaps it’ll be next week? that way they can evaluate the pre-admits that didn’t make the grades along with the regulars. I’m thinking they have tiers of students that they admit, and they might consider swapping out an on-the-fence regular admit for a fallen pre-admit. I’d guess it’d be somewhere around the 20th, then.

I hope I’m wrong and it comes out today. Just put me out of my misery, Ross!

It’s possible they may release decisions near the middle of this week. They are considering more students to enter the program this year than last, so it will naturally take longer than when last years decisions were released.

I feel like there’s a decent chance they could come out today. I think they expected the same amount of people to apply but they just accept more so it shouldn’t take much longer. Also I know pre admits get their formal decisions same time as everyone else which means everyone should hear by the 15th

my friend (who is a pa) will find out his decision on friday. i believe all pas will get their formal offer of admission on friday…meaning that everyone will receive a decision on Friday.
