ROTC Scholarships

Can anyone show me where Army ROTC specifies the scholarship application deadline(s)?

In other threads I've seen posters report that the process should be well under way by now for rising seniors and nearly complete by Christmas.

Yet, on GoArmy.com > Army ROTC > Overview I can find nothing that indicates firm deadlines. Am I missing something?

To add further confusion, Son has a friend who (according to Son) applied in April of his senior year and was granted a 4-year scholarship before enrolling at his college in August.

TIA.

Nevermind. I found it. January 10 is the deadline.

You can still get a full-tuition Army scholarship after enrolling in college pretty easily once you meet the health and PT requirements if it’s still anything like how it was 2 years ago - they were giving them away at my school (Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology)…

DougBetsy -
A year or two ago they extended the deadline for the AROTC scholarship. It went into the spring IIRC.
This past year there were no extensions of the deadline.
Pretty much every cadet who qualifies for a scholarship has one. I don’t think you can make them retroactive but you can get them for 3 or 3.5 years.

That’s pretty much what I was saying. Every cadet in the Wabash battalion had one, except one kid from Saudi. That’s not hyperbole, either.

HI -
I’m a mom of a prospective army rotc cadet - first choice is Virginia Tech. Does anyone know if army rotc scholarships are just as plentiful there?
Thanks!

Wow dshinka!! My son is waiting on pins and needles for the Rotc scholarship at Rose Hulman!! the army hasn’t released the funding yet!!! It’s horrible waiting for an answer! Last year were they this slow??? any information would be appreciated!! thank you!

New question from the OP -

How do cadets travel from the college they attend to the one that oversees their ROTC education? For example, if Son’s ROTC scholarship is for Gettysburg, how does he get to Dickinson? And, how often would he have to travel to Dickinson?

thanks.

Officially they are responsible for their own travel. Talk to the Battalion at Dickenson.
Often with Army ROTC they will send an instructor to the cross town campuses for class, esp MS I and MSII and they only have to go back and forth for certain training.
This is how it was done when my daughter was in a cross town unit.

For training the older cadets with cars would make sure the younger ones had rides. They really do look out for each other.
