If I was to join ROTC would the military pay for me to finish my degree? I know I’ve read about ROTC students on full rides. Do only some ROTC students get scholarships? Are they hard to get?
I believe ROTC scholarship apps are due in November or December of the previous year. I think you can participate in ROTC military sciences classes for 2 years with no commitment to see if you would enjoy being an officer candidate. It’s a great program, but be aware if you take their scholarship money you sign a contract that they can make you pay it back by sending you in enlisted if you don’t get your degree on time. Pretty serious stuff.
^above pretty much got it. The scholarships require applications, but you can still join and get the monthly stipend (about $300-$600 depending on what year you are)
