Rsi 2007

what about actuarial science

did anyone noticed that wikipedia was listed as a source/reference

on the app they leave room for ACT scores...do we have to take those?

because under SAT scores they have "(if taken)" but under ACT they do not.

ActuarialDJ, yes, I noticed that. DS did, too. He says that there are actually some pretty good math reousrces in Wikipedia -- all that peer review, I guess/

On question 2 where they ask: state your first & second choice of field and subfield, can I choose the same field twice, and do a different subfield each time? Or are they looking for two different fields, each with their own separate subfield?

lydia423: you do not need to have taken the ACTs. SAT and/or PSAT is fine.

Van2010: you can put down the same field for question 2.

ActuarialDJ: statistics is okay (under the field of math, probably). not sure about actuarial science, though. everybody does research in math, chem, physics, engineering, bio, biotechnology, etc....(idk how else to put this, but im sure you understand) "real" science.

If statistics is okay, would Economics be ok too? Could I put Economics as a field and Macroeconomics as a subfield?

If you have questions about what fields you can list, I suggest you email or call and ask. Then you will have an answer that you know is correct.

Meatlovers: Yeah, take over30's advice and call, but I would say no to economics.

By transcript, do they mean grade 9-11 grades or just this year's grades?

Van2010: All grades (9-11), plus last semester's grades if available.

I e-mailed the lady, but she has not responded yet

She is probably quite busy tho

Yes, Maite probably gets a bunch of emails about RSI (she got a few from me, under a fake email address LOL)...

Good luck!

Deadline is coming up........... ~ahhhhh~

yep..... anyone else anxious?

are we dead in here?

it is kinda dead in here...well i haven't even started the short answers yet. how about everyone else?

Corina--you sent her e-mails from a fake address so she wouldn't associate your questions with you? Haha, nice.

Good luck to all.

What do you send as "verification of standardized scores"?

Also, when you are supposed to write "date completed/expected"...do you write the dates you think you'll take a class you haven't taken yet? For example, I have never taken Statistics...then do I write 6/2008 for my date expected to be completed?

Lydia423: Regarding the standardized test scores, they don't say how to do it, but you don't need to have official ones sent by the College Board, etc. You should be able to send in a copy (we sent a notarized copy just to be safe--just go to your bank with the original and the copy and they will notarize the copy for you at no charge).

Since they ask for the date expected, it is OK for you to put down when you plan to take a class, even if it's next year. Only the courses that are relevant--math and science.

Good luck.
