Ruined my chances?

<p>I am from Southern California, and transferred from the University of Oregon to be closer to home (long story; I just wanted to be closer to my then-boyfriend. So now I want to go anywhere) after spending 2 years there </p>

<p>I just recently fell in LOVE with Washington DC and American University. </p>

<p>But after I applied, I realized that I wrote my essay for the Common Application on why I wanted to transfer is so I am closer to home.... I feel so stupid. </p>

<p>Has that completely ruined my chances of getting into American University?</p>

<p>And for transfers, American University doesn't have a separate essay from the Common App</p>
