Rutgers Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

This is still on landing page:

I genuinely believe that the order is random. I saw average students getting decisions before exceptional students. From what you said she seems like a competitive student with a promising chance.

Yes, ā€œComplete Your SRARā€ is going to stay there on the portal. Seems to be a glitch.

I got it last night at around 8 is when I checked. Iā€™m a very average student: 3.7 gpa and went test optional. I donā€™t plan on going to business school at New Brunswick however I did put it as my third option. Iā€™m waiting for SAS

My DD hasnā€™t heard back from PSU yet but received her final acceptance from RU about 90 mins ago. I was nervous too. Good luck!

My daughter applied October. Iā€™m starting to think something is wrong.

You can email her admissions counselor and ask her/him. If you donā€™t know who it is you can find out on their website.

My daughter also applied in October and found out she was accepted last night. 3rd choice came in 1st and 1st choice came in last. Weā€™re still waiting on a handful of schools.

They said by 31st so not going to say anything until after that. It appears everything is all there and counselor said all good. Not easy

Same. Today her application check list lost an item (transcript received). Hopefully that means someone is reviewing her application.

The whole thing is stressful. My older son (class of 2020) applied EA in 2019 and heard back before Christmas. Heā€™s currently a sophomore at SAS. Younger son also applied EA and has yet to hear. Trying to keep it together until after the 31st. Younger sonā€™s credentials werenā€™t as great as the older guy so Iā€™m thinking itā€™s possible that we will be in it for the long haul and am bracing for a deferral to RD and then a possible waitlist. Itā€™s gotten difficult to get in! On the other hand, at the last minute he also applied to Seton Hall and Montclair in December and found out from both of them last week. I think with Rutgers itā€™s the sheer volume and whatever complicated algorithms they use. Iā€™m an alum so am accustomed to the RU Screw but when itā€™s your kid it doesnā€™t make it any less stressful. Good luck everyone!

Same here. Hubby and are alum and our oldest child, our son, is at RU already. Weā€™re praying for good news for our daughter. As my husband says, ā€œour family bleeds Scarletā€

Haha, yeahā€¦the RU Screw! As an alum, I can say I donā€™t think youā€™ve lived the Rutgers experience until you experience that!

Our experience is kind of similar. My son also applied to Rutgers in 2019 - two Newark schools (RBS and SAS) and one NB school (RBS). He was accepted into the two Newark schools before Christmas, and didnā€™t hear back from NB until 1/31 (not accepted). Happy ending, though, because heā€™s a Deanā€™s List student at RBS in Newark.

Anyway, my daughter has now applied EA to two NB schools (SEBS and SAS) and one Newark school (SAS). She also was accepted to Newark before Christmas and we continue to wait for NB. Her GPA is better than her brotherā€™s, though a tad low when compared to the acceptance range on the Rutgers website, and we went Test Optional. If she gets into SEBS, then itā€™s in her Top 3. If she gets deferred or waitlisted, this is going to drag on.

I know this is about admissions but I have an aid question.

Do the local large public universities (UD, PSU, Pitt and Rutgers give merit aid to OOS that brings tuition in-line with in-state tuition?

My son got $15k from UD which gets it close to PSU. Can I expect similar from RU?

Given the difference in student profiles between these schools, regardless of your sonā€™s stats, he is likely more competitive at U Del than at PSU, Pitt or Rutgers.
Delaware often is viewed as an alternative to Rutgers Newark- not NB, the flagship campus- at least at my kidsā€™ HS.
