@hamstargaming I think I got in because of my upward trend and good EC’s. I have a 3.0 and 27 ACT which isn’t very good but I had a clear upward trend and a good essay, as well as a myriad of EC’s.
has anyone been deferred from NB SAS
hey guys, Has anyone done the rutgers transfer essay?? if yes can you please give me an insight to what goes in it and what rutgers is looking for you to write ?
@leafconeybearismart I know that Rutgers prides themselves on their diverse amount of students. if you don’t mind me asking what is your background/ethnicity? I know it a personal question but I had a thought that Rutgers is more lenient towards people that are from a minority group (Black, Hispanic Asian…) I hope what I just said makes sense to you
@hpopparis I totally get what you’re saying, but nope, I’m middle class and white.
I just looked it up: Here are the stats for Rutgers New Brunswick
0.1% American Indian/Alaskan Native
28.1% Asian
8.2% Black/African-American
14.4% Hispanic/Latino
3.4% Multi-race (not Hispanic/Latino)
0.3% Native Hawaiian/ Pacific Islander
43.7% White
1.8% Unknown
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 13.7% of New Jersey’s population is black.18% of NJ’s population is Hispanic. 59% of NJ’s population is white.
In my humble opinion race alone isn’t a huge factor in Rutgers admission. Rutgers is pretty well known for mainly considering grades and test scores and putting a lot less weight on other factors. They basically want to know if you can handle the academics or not.
I have gotten into Rutgers New Brunswick Arts and Sciences on 12/16/17 after applying Early Action. However, I still have not received anything from Newark Business School and Ernest Mario School of pharmacy. Some of my friends applied regular decision and received all of their decisions within the same or the following week. Why is it called “early action” if we do not get decisions before regular decision applicants? My date on my status screen has changed to 1/26/2018. What does that mean?
Be back here tomorrow anxiously waiting but who else is still waiting EA for nb sas?
My D received her acceptance email today for NB SAS BIology major and she applied RD. Hope you get your answers soon and that they’re positive. Her stats:
Stats:
In State (Bergen County)
Hispanic
1240 SAT
3.7 gpa UW and 4.2 weighted, (mostly honors and 9 APs)
Over 1,000 community service hours (the fact that she’s a certified EMT I think helped)
decent essay
Hope this helps. Good luck!
can someone please tell me what rutgers wants you to write about in the transfer essay? is it just writing about rutgers or can you include some personal anecodtes as well???
Uhh last week guys I’m so tense all my schools are still in process
Last week peeps!
When do they start telling transfers they are admitted ?
Do rejection letters go out before admitted letters? Or do they all go out at the same time
I don’t think Rutgers sends out a rejection letter, its all online.
hey when did you hear back from the business school? Ive been in process all along and i dont know how and when they are releasing decisions. Thank you ! @NE_Pats12
Does anyone know when the business school decisions will be relased? Also with these stats do i have a shot at getting in? I am still in process,

I have a weird feeling i wont be accepted. I would really appreciate if someone could give me thier two cents.
Thank you!!!
Do they take parents being alumni into account when it comes to admission?
No they don’t do ‘legacy applicants’ at Rutgers. I recall this from when my daughter was filling out her application. There is a section where they ask if your parent or grandparent went there and it explicitly states that it will not affect your chances of admission. They ask mainly for fundraising and targeted mailing purposes and alumni association information gathering purposes. Rutgers is one of those colleges that is all about the test scores, grades and rigor of your high school courses. That’s what really counts to them, period. Obviously your mileage may vary depending on the particular school within the university but overall, like most big state schools, that’s their bottom line.
Do you guys think a wave will come out tonight?
