I have been with the marching band for the past two years, and I can confidently say that the organization is headed in the right direction.
We’re entering our third year under a new director and assistant director, both being extremely qualified to run the marching band. Our student leadership is quite involved, and we’re working everyday to better the band as a whole. One of the new things we established recently is a wider social media presence to provide outsiders a look into what the athletic bands program is like, so I’d definitely recommend to check that out, as well as our revamped website, www.rutgersbands.com
As for band culture, we are taking huge strides in improvement of the overall culture. It honestly does feel like a family, as cliche as that sounds. The organization promotes a great atmosphere during rehearsals and we’re always striving to get better at what we do.
