Rutgers New Brunswick Business School

I am currently a junior in high school in New Jersey. I want to know what my chances are in getting into RBS or SAS.I go to a prep school, so we take AVID which prepares us for college. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Freshman year, I did not join any school clubs or sports, but I was and still am in a youth group at my church where we volunteer and help the community. Sophomore year, I took an AP class and I also joined the swimming team. Junior year, this year, I joined National Honor Society, Journalism Club, and joined Cross Country. I plan to join tennis in the fall of my senior year. My class rank is 33 out of 217 students. I am taking the SAT’s in a week, so I do not have any scores to show. However, I did take the PSAT’s. Sophomore year I got an overall score of 830 (new scoring), 390 in reading and writing and a 440 in math. Fall of 2016 I took the PSAT’s and i got an 870, 360 in reading and writing and a 510 in math. I plan on taking the SAT’s three times. My goal is to get a 1200 or higher. My guidance counselor said that I might be able to superscore my SAT scores.

Thanks

Your GPA is a little low for RBS (You will prob get into SAS though) but to make up for it try to get your SAT score a lot higher (Like 1350+). You still have a lot of time to work on improving it.

yeah im working hard on trying to get really high on my sat. im thinking about taking it three times. but thanks for commenting

@eraserb. Your English PSAT is very low given your English grades. Are you a native English speaker? Doyou have a particular problem area (vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension)? A 390 does not seem to align with A’s the first 2 years and attendance at a prep school. I see improvement in the Msth scores and that makes sense given that you are continuing to learn the material. How are you working on the English part.

@Njmom224 I took the SAT last month and received my scores. 510 in Reading/Writing and a 570 in Math. I am a native English speaker. My problem is that during english tests I get distracted and then I forget that I’m taking a test and then I have to read the passage (I’m not a fast reader, to fully understand what I’m reading I have to read every single word and it takes time) sometimes when I read the passage the first time I won’t understand it so I waste all this time just trying to understand the passage. Then when I get to the questions, I have a hard time trying to understand what they are asking. I am not a good test taker in English. Math is more my thing. Sorry for replying almost two months late.

You should be fine I got in with an 1180 SAT

@Hasanh what was your gpa? did you have a’s and b’s throughout high school? did you get into newark or new brunswick?

96.6 and all A´s because i took mostly cp classes
