I’m not sure if the portals are complete. Rutgers did not send out a notification email (at least to us, and it appears several others) so maybe the upload and/or the merit and financial aid isn’t complete, and that’s why they didn’t send out notifications. Hopefully Monday everyone will receive some communication/clarification.
Does anyone know if merit and financial aid are being sent in batches? I have a few friends who got emails but myself and others didn’t yet.
If merit is considered scholarships like the Chancellor Scholarship, then those are out too as they’re on the financial reward letter.
Didn’t get an email but checked the financial aid portal anyway – $28,000 Presidential from SOE, $19,000 from SAS.
Congratulations! That is very impressive @wekjjslfsd - do you mind if I ask your stats that you don’t mind sharing?
“You are required to submit additional documentation to complete your application for financial aid. If you recently submitted documents, please allow 7 business days for processing. You will receive an email notification when your Award Letter is ready.” Yet I have no idea what documents (did not receive any email about it, already submitted FAFSA back in November). IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS MESSAGE COME UP?
Got Trustee Scholars Merit Aid - no email. I just checked the portal.
@universitymom67 Thank you! I’m in-state, 4.0 UW GPA, 1560 SAT
@MontyChild check the portal at finservices.rutgers.edu, I had the same message on my Honors portal and no email either, but my award was available anyway.
Has any international student received merit aid yet?
@wekjjslfsd I checked award portal and got that message
I’m in state, off-campus, and received $20K need-based grant. I’m so glad that it’s like a full tuition ride!
@pieferdays @wekjjslfsd Does the Merit Scholarship Amount appear on the Award Letter???
@jennieey Yes – I had a section on mine that said ‘Gift aid offered’
@jennieey - Yes, it does indicate Trustee Scholars and the amount ($16K) under ‘Gift Aid Offered’
I guess this instate middle class family earns too much for Rutgers. They offered the guaranteed federal loan but zero merit. SAS and SOE admitted. ? i’ll Call on Tuesday.
Exact same as you. Instate, middle-class. Maybe they’re saving more scholarships for out-of-state cause it’s much more expensive?
Plz let us know what they tell you.
Dont I wish. We are OOS. Heard nothing. The way things stand they expect full tuition=all of my retirement savings plus 100G debt for kiddo. We loved Rutgers when we toured but this way it is just not doable
How do you access financial portal? It asks for NetId which we do not recall getting. Is it something you get when you accept admission? I tried this Duo authentication and could not get it to work☹️
@spqr70nj ikr… facing the same problem. seems like if youre middle class, they consider you too rich for a drop of a single penny :<
