I'm currently a sophomore at Arizona State. I'm from New Jersey, and my freshman year I attended community college. My GPA at community college for my 2 semesters was a 3.7, and my GPA for this semester at ASU should be anywhere from a 3.3 to a 3.45. Do you think my chances of getting accepted into Rutgers Business program at their New Brunswick campus are high? My major would be business management.

I would guess that it depends on the current applicant pool, but it should be easier to transfer into the management program than the accounting or finance programs.

What do you think the average person who is accepted has as their gpa?

I’m not sure, I have only heard it mentioned that you should try for at least a 3.5 if you want to transfer in.

For a school to school transfer within Rutgers, they require a 3.1 minimum but final GPA minimum is determined by the applicant pool (it’s a 3.5 minimum if you are coming from Camden or Newark).

2.Grade-Point Average (NB)
•Minimum Cumulative GPA: Students applying from the School of Arts and Sciences, the College of Nursing, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Mason Gross School of the Arts, the School of Engineering or the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy must have a Rutgers-New Brunswick cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.100 by the end of the spring 2013 semester – no summer 2013 grades will be considered. This is a minimum GPA guideline; the actual GPA for admission may be higher based on competition for the number of seats available for fall 2013.

2.Grade-Point Average (Camden and Newark)
•Minimum Cumulative GPA: Students applying from Rutgers-Camden or Rutgers-Newark must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.500 at Rutgers University by the end of the spring 2013 semester – no summer 2013 grades will be considered. This is a minimum GPA guideline; the actual GPA for admission may be higher based on competition for the number of seats available for fall 2013.

I know you are transferring from out of state but this is all I could find.

I found this statement from Rutgers Website.

The Rutgers Business School-New Brunswick considers applicants for the fall semester only. Students transferring from a two or four year college or university must have completed 45 credits, including the eligibility courses, to be considered for admission.

When I apply to Rutgers for Fall 2013 I will have not completed them all, however I will have them completed by Spring 2013. Are my chances ruined for admission?

But then I found it to say on a different page…

To be eligible, students must have completed a Rutgers-New Brunswick equivalent to 01:640:115 pre-calculus and the equivalent of two of the six course eligibility requirements by the end of the spring 2013 semester.

They are saying two different things in terms of eligibility requirements…What gives?
