<p>This is so sad.</p>
<p>There is a vaccination available for meningitis. It isn’t 100% effective, but it is surely prudent to do. I remind parents to check their student’s vaccination records and make sure that they’ve had the shot/and booster as recommended. Some time ago, there was an outbreak of this disease in a neighboring town–something like 8 cases with one death–and that made me scrupulous about getting boosters for our children before they went off to college.</p>
