Any other ideas for safeties? Other than Northeastern...

Bueller? Bueller? :)

Any other safety suggestions? at all...heh

BUMP, anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

Is there anyone out there with an opinion? Oh well...

Just out of curiosity, rather than safeties, what other reaches should I apply to, BC is my only one as of now. Do I have a better shot at Tufts or Brandeis, or any other suggestions for a slight reach?

Thanks!

Any other ideas? Answers to my above questions?

Thanks,

~Ben

Final bump, any ideas?

Yes I have seen people get into Brandeis and Tufts with your stats. They may be slight reaches but definately doable.

^ Well, thank you, I was considering Holy Cross as an option as well, and which do you think would be easier to get into out of Tufts and Brandeis?

Dickinson and Bucknell in PA, Goucher in MD, Towson in MD, St. Mary's in MD. Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA

^ Are those safeties?

What do you think..you have to get serious about making these judgments. Type in Common Data Set and you get an idea if you are going to the reject or considered pile. You will be considered at your schools and at the ones I suggested. But you need references, proof that you are serious about contributing something to a college and thoughful essays. Essays and interviews are better when you have actually visited your colleges and choosing to not go due to the expense is a mistake. This is four years of your life and your financial investment and many other kids with financial aide needs figure out a way to visit their top schools.
I think your grades are a vulnerable spot and your test scores are at the fifty percentile mark in the above schools or better! So bolster your applications by showing you understand each school and why it works as a fit for you.
GW and others on your list are large schools and you might achieve more in a smaller university or a LAC. But how will you get a feel for this without a visit...there are things like Greyhound buses to some towns...get serious about making these choices based on as much data as you can muster, so you can make lucid decisions and get together at least two apps to schools that will admit you for sure that you like. best of luck

Brandeis is slightly easier than Tufts.

^ Thank you

Anyone else?

I'd say a good shot at BU, George Washington and American. Tuft's old SAT mean was a little over 700 in both V and M so you would need to bring your scores up a little for Tufts or BC, but the 30 could possibly still get you in. Try the tests again, my D went up 100 pts with little studying over the summer (old test again) most kids do just from maturation alone.

^ Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'm probably going to add Holy Cross instead of Tufts, what do you think?

Anybody else on this question/s?

I'd visit Holy Cross first. Friends D hated it because of the location, not a lot to do, isolated. Otherwise the academics are good. You would get in.
